Last.fm, the online music service, has become the latest website to warn its users about a possible password leak.
The warning follows security breaches at professional social network LinkedIn and eHarmony, the dating website.
Last.fm is a British-based social music website that launched in London before being purchased by US media giant CBS in 2007.
In a message on the website, Last.fm said it was investigating the possibility that some of its users passwords have been stolen. The message said that Last.fm members should change their passwords “as a precautionary measure”.
